We need to identify two students for this. They should not be part of the
game team. They should be students who are comfortable interacting with
adults they don't know, and confident about representing CRUSH and FIRST.
Who is interested?

Subject: Request for student Tour Guides for VIPs at AZ Regional

The FRC AZ Regional Planning Committee is asking for two volunteers from
each team to act as VIP tour guides on Saturday, March 11 at the FRC AZ
Regional. If you have two members of your team who are available to act in
this capacity, please send me the following information.

Team number
Name of students who will volunteer to be VIP tour guides.

We would need the tour guides for Saturday, between 11:00 AM and noon.
There might also be an opportunity ad hoc at other times. We will have
play it by ear. We currently have about 16 VIPs that have responded. We
will ask that they be taken in small groups by the VIP Tour Guides.

VIP Tour Guides
Meeting: Friday, March 12, 2003
            10:30 AM
            VIP table
There will be a meeting on Friday, March 10, 2006 at the VIP table with
Carol Popovich from the Arizona Regional Planning Committee to discuss the
tour and what you should say. Be there. Here are guidelines to prepare
you. Last year it was VERY successful, and the VIPs were impressed with
the student representatives. I'm sure everyone will do well, and the
Arizona Regional Planning Committee thanks you for doing this for our VIPs.

1.) You will be "assigned" a small group of VIPs for your tour
2.) You will take them around the PIT area between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM
on Saturday.
3.) You will return the VIPs to the VIP room by noon, where the VIPs will
be given a presentation and a VIP lunch.

Show them around the PIT area. I suggest you also take the VIPs to your
team's robot, because it might be easier for you to talk specifically about
your robot. The VIPs will be interested in FIRST. We don't know what they
will ask, but be prepared to discuss some of the following topics:
· How the game is scored and played
· Describe what you do for your team
· How long has your school been involved with FIRST?
· What the FIRST experience has meant to you
· What is special about the design of your robot?
· Who are your sponsors?
· Who are your mentors?

You can determine the length of your tour, based on the interest of your
VIP. Just make sure they are returned to the VIP room by noon.

If the VIP asks a question you can't answer, it is OK to say, "I don't know
the answer to that question, but they should be able to answer it in the
VIP room."

Be friendly
Be polite
Be informative
Relate FIRST to your experience.

Thank you for your participation!
