Hi all
I apologize for the email being so quiet this season. Because of student teaching, I am at school all day every day now, and have had less need to send email. It's not a good excuse, just the real one. I know email is what keeps many of you informed.
We've had a very busy few weeks. Our robot Atlas is nearly ready to test. Students have been very dedicated in welding, part making, assembly, component test, animation creation, software development and even all the dull but necessary tasks like smoothing sharp edges and corners and cleaning up every night. Well, maybe not every night. Anyway, it's a dedicated push to the finish line, they're doing great, and we have only a little over a week to go. This weekend we will certainly be able to drive the competition chassis, and maybe be able to test the assembled lifter as well. Always watch http://photodump.crush1011.org for new pictures. I try to get them uploaded a couple times a week.
We need to continue schedule flexibility as much as possible for one more week, meaning working late into the evening often. This does not mean students have my blessing or permission to do irreparable damage to their other studies or grades. This should not be allowed to happen. But in classes where you can get some flexibility with due dates on some assignments, this is the time to ask for it.
8 more days
Bill
