Hi again Atlanta travelers

We've purchased your tickets! We've estimated total trip costs at $600 per person, and we're going to work hard to hold costs to that amount. I have received a deposit from very few people so far, so please get that money to me on Monday. Also, we would appreciate the full balance as soon as convenient for you, but not later than Tuesday, 4/10, the day before travel. By then we will have already received the credit card bill for the airfare, so we'll need the money to pay that bill. Make checks payable to Sonoran Science Academy with memo "Atlanta - student name".

Here are the flight plans:
Tucson to Atlanta 4/11 Wednesday 
leave Tucson from SSA around 5:00 AM
arrive Phoenix airport 6:50 AM
AirTran flight 543 departs 7:50 AM from Phoenix non-stop to Atlanta, arrives 2:30 PM

local transportation in Atlanta by rental van Wednesday through Sunday

Atlanta to Tucson 4/15 Sunday
AirTran flight 542 departs 6:13 PM from Atlanta non-stop to Phoenix, arrives 7:33 PM
return to SSA by about 10:30 PM 

The late departure Sunday is to allow us to either sleep in or do something fun in Atlanta before coming back home, depending on how tired we all are from the competition and FIRST party Saturday night. 

To minimize costs, Mr. Calik is arranging lodging in private homes through his contacts when he lived there. This will probably mean "camping in" style of sleeping arrangements, so plan to bring sleeping bags. 

We will meet in the shop Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday until we leave. Our main goals are to design a replacement lifter and to pack tools and parts. We need to get this done early, since tools and parts will have to be mostly shipped ahead of our travel.

More details will be announced as available.

Hi again team. We're excited about Atlanta as we firm up plans to get us there. Please pay attention to this note about air travel arrangements. 

Tomorrow we will purchase flight tickets for Atlanta. After this, travelers will be responsible for the cost of their ticket if not used (a little over $300). That is, if we buy a ticket in your name and you do not use it, SSA will expect reimbursement. So please do three things:
(1) Reply to me as soon as possible saying you confirm that you are on the list and intend to go, or you should not be on the list, or you aren't on the list but should be. 
(2) Verify the spelling of your name - must match your ID in order to use the ticket
(3) Bring me a $100 deposit - make check payable to Sonoran Science Academy

If your balance is less than $100 you do not have to make a deposit, but you are still responsible for the cost of the ticket if not used. So please be sure you've checked all possible conflicts and you're sure you can go.
