OK Korbin. Your enthusiasm is contagious. I need the day off today (Wednesday) from CRUSH to get regular life back on track but I'm willing to mentor the build meeting Thursday and Friday for up to 5 hours each, starting at 3. We need to map out the activities. Some activities are limited to the two 5 hour "fix-it" periods and other things are not:
Limited to fix-it periods:
- software - anything we want to work on (though there's not much hardware to work with at this point)
- OI - I think we can do whatever we want on the OI, perhaps not even limited to fix-it window - I'll check on this
- spare shooter chute - good idea
- what else?
Not limited:
- plan travel kit (tools, parts, and materials)
- prepare pit display/hand-out materials
- prepare team number and sponsor logos for placement on Kareem
- plan what needs to be completed/repaired/improved on Kareem at competition on Thursday (limit switches, collector deflector tuning, etc)
We can also design, and practice making, any new parts we want to make at Phx competition. Has to be something we can make there, so if it requires milling or turning, must be very well spec'd since the Regional competition shop will have to make it for us.
Since starting this note last night, and now it's Wednesday morning, Korbin found out he has an opportunity to spend the weekend snow-boarding in Colorado, so he's gone. Joe, you'll have to recruit some other help in making the replacement shooter chute. Remember, it has to be a replacement part, not an upgrade of any kind. So as much as possible, you have to make it same size, shape, thickness, material, etc.
See you tomorrow.
Bill
