Bottom line: team will meet 3-8 pm Thursday this week, and 12-5 Friday to make use of the fix-it windows.
If you can be there to help, please come. Even if you're not needed to do programming or mechanical work, we can make good use of the time:
- clean and organize the shop
- plan the tools, parts, and materials travel kit
- make team numbers and sponsor logos for attaching to robot in Phoenix (required by rules)
- plan and make pit display
Team Update #10 (http://www2.usfirst.org/2006comp/Updates/Team_Update_10_Feb-17-06.pdf) makes it pretty clear what we can do on software outside the fix-it window. Basically, you can ponder, research methods, make some notes, but not write code. You can't compile, syntax check, or even type any psuedo code or C code.
We have up to four 5-hour periods during which we can develop code and do mechanical work before Phoenix. Two this week ending at latest 5 pm Friday, and two anytime between March 5 and 10, after the first weekend of regional comps. Software work sessions must be simultaneous with hardware, so I think the time to do this is 3-8 pm Thursday and 12-5 Friday. I'd rather come later on Friday, to interfere less with work, but the rules require ending at 5 pm and 3-5 is not much time to do anything. Today we could have worked later, but I think we all needed the day off (I sure did).
See you tomorrow!
Bill
