Dear Crush 1011 Member,

2007 MATHCOUNTS Chapter Round (Pima County) was held on February 17 at
Cienega Vail High School with the participation of 24 schools and 188
students. Sonoran Science Academy middle school students participated in
2007 MATHCOUNTS Chapter Round and they did extremely well and got the
following rankings.

1st Place Zackary Becker (8th grade)

2nd Place Richard Spence (7th grade)

5th Place Joshua Sloane (6th grade)

6th Place Reilly Bello (8th grade)

10th Place Michael Brost (8th grade)

11th Place Natalie Funk (8th grade)

SSA MATHCOUNTS team includes Zack, Richard, Joshua and Reilly and they will
compete against other counties' winners in the State Round of 2007
MATHCOUNTS which will be held at Cienega Vail High School on March 17. We
congratulate our students and wish best for them for the State Round.

(MATHCOUNTS is the most prestigious national math enrichment, coaching &
competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement in
every U.S. state & territory. Schools select students to compete
individually or as part of a team in one of the more than 500 written & oral
competitions held nationwide. Top students advance to the state, &
ultimately, national level. MATHCOUNTS challenges students' math skills,
develops their self-confidence & rewards them for their achievements.)
